It’s been 3 years since Koenigsegg Agera RS set a new record speed of 278mph.
The speed bested Bugatti Veyron Super Sport speed by 11mph, dethroning it as fastest production car in the world.
Amid controversial new top speed of 316.11 mph set by SSC Tuatara, the Koenigsegg Agera RS remains world’s fastest production car.
It’s been three years since Koenigsegg Agera RS achieved a two-run average speed of 277.9 mph (444.6 kph) to dethrone the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport as the fastest production car in the world.
The new record was achieved by the 1,360-horsepower Agera RS on a closed stretch of Route 160 in Nevada on November 4, 2017. It bested the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport’s previous top speed record of 267.81 mph set since 2010 by over 11mph.

Amid last month’s controversial new top speed of 316.11 mph set by SSC Tuatara hypercar, the Koenigsegg Agera RS still remains the world’s fastest production car.
Taking to its social media channels to celebrates the amazing feat, the Swedish hypercar maker also reminded us that the record still stands after three years.
“It’s been three years but we remember it like it was yesterday. The fastidious toil and incredible guts that went into the making of the top speed record of the world’s fastest production car with the Agera RS. Here’s celebrating the title a third year running and to an even more exciting road ahead!”
The mid-engine world’s fastest production car featured a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8, producing 1360 hp. It allows the Agera RS to reache 60 mph in under 2.9-seconds and blasts to 124 mph in under 7-seconds.
