Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, May 17, arrived in French capital, Paris, for this week’s twin summit meeting with the French President, Emmanuel Macron.

Ahead of this week’s twin meeting, President Buhari had a separate meeting with the French president, where the two leaders discussed the growing security threats in Sahel and Lake Chad region, political relations, economic ties, and climate change.

Upon his arrival at the Elysee Palace on Monday, May 17, fully masked President Buhari was received by President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and First Lady, Brigitte Macron.

Macron this week hosts African leaders as they seek to help Sudan into a new democratic era. A separate meeting, scheduled for the following day, will also seek to provide Africa with financing shortfall of almost $300 billion caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
